S05E06- Releasing Trapped Emotions: Mari's Journey from Depression to Energy Healing
00:00:00
Ready? Three, two, one.
00:00:06
Music.
00:00:17
Welcome back to another episode of Shit That Goes On In Our Heads.
00:00:22
Today, we are joined by the wonderful, lovely Mari. Welcome, Mari. Mari.
00:00:28
Thank you. Thank you for having me. I'm very excited to be here.
00:00:32
I know. I'm excited to talk to you, especially after the day I've had.
00:00:35
It's been wild, crazy workday. I feel like I need cleansing of sorts.
00:00:42
Wait till you find out what's going on in my head.
00:00:46
We can distract each other from our own reality and step into another reality together.
00:00:54
So you've had a tough week? And I've had a tough year, it feels like.
00:00:58
Yeah, I've had a tough week.
00:00:59
But usually, and it's not the holidays either, because usually I always tell
00:01:04
people, they don't even realize that people tend to get critically stressed around the holidays.
00:01:09
Even if you think that you're like the most easygoing person,
00:01:13
that you don't do much, that you don't prep much, we have so much expectations.
00:01:18
We have so much pressure that we put on ourselves, even if we do the bare minimum.
00:01:23
And everyone and their crowds everywhere, and everybody's shopping and everyone's
00:01:27
like, what are you doing and what are you doing?
00:01:29
Well, how about if I just stay home and do nothing?
00:01:33
Wouldn't that be nice? I would love that, right? No presents, nothing.
00:01:38
Just me, a book, maybe a cup of tea, a cozy blanket.
00:01:44
This is perfect. This is what I want. This is what I want for the holidays.
00:01:48
I swear to God, the two of you are soul sisters.
00:01:51
I know. We started last year. I'm calling it a tradition.
00:01:57
This will be our second year where on Christmas Eve.
00:02:00
So my family, they go big on Christmas Eve. It's usually a huge party.
00:02:04
Everybody dresses up. It's like a big thing. Right.
00:02:08
And when you're younger, I think that that's fun.
00:02:12
Again, like you just said, you're stressed towards the holidays.
00:02:14
Same here. Work is crazy.
00:02:17
It's not the holiday season that's stressing me out. It's everything else, right?
00:02:21
So last year, same sort of scenario.
00:02:24
We started a Christmas Eve that we would host, but it was come in your pajamas
00:02:30
and we'll play games and laugh and take ourselves not serious at all.
00:02:36
And we do a white elephant gift so that we don't have the stress of getting everybody something.
00:02:41
I love them. And so, yeah, this year we're even thinking of like,
00:02:45
let's just do like a taco bar.
00:02:46
Like, why does it have to be a huge thing? Like, it's just, I just want it to
00:02:50
be a relaxing, fun, stress-free.
00:02:54
I feel like that would be even more fun. You know, a taco bar and like dessert bar maybe on Sunday.
00:03:00
We can make that on Sunday. Yeah, right. Like make whatever you want with these ingredients.
00:03:07
You know, I really do like that. I really do. It gets to me so much.
00:03:12
Do you have booze included in that? Always. I do do a cocktail.
00:03:15
I will commit myself to making a themed drink.
00:03:19
This year, I keep seeing recipes on TikTok for a white margarita.
00:03:24
I might go for... I love tequila. So like count me in on that.
00:03:28
So yeah, there's liquor involved for sure.
00:03:32
I like that. That sounds really good. If you're in Georgia, stop by. No, I'm just kidding.
00:03:41
I'm not that far. You know, we live on like 9 hours? No.
00:03:45
What's 11 hours? We just had so much fun last year.
00:03:50
It was my in-laws and my parents and my brother and my nieces and nephews.
00:03:56
We just had fun playing silly games, everybody everybody laughing.
00:04:01
It was just a blast. It was the best. So this is what it should be about.
00:04:05
Yeah. This is what it should be about. Not again, presence. Although,
00:04:08
you know, I do want to get in presence. I won't lie.
00:04:11
No, I do. But I mean, it should be about presence for, you know,
00:04:16
things I must get accomplished, things I must do.
00:04:19
And what if, you know, what if I don't cook 17 dishes and what if I order? I mean, I don't know.
00:04:26
It's just too much pressure.
00:04:29
Y'all should be like me. Every one present I buy somebody, I buy myself two.
00:04:35
I like that. Yeah. So you got everything you ever need because you That is correct.
00:04:43
I know. What does that leave everybody else to get you though if you're buying everything you want?
00:04:47
I buy the expensive stuff. I like that.
00:04:52
You can buy me the test toys. You can buy me, you know,
00:04:57
a locator for my phone you know things like that you can buy me those kinds of things,
00:05:04
but but you know i'm kind of bougie when it comes to my my electronics so you
00:05:09
know i don't want to leave that in the hands of somebody you know that's inexperienced
00:05:12
and doesn't live in my head mm-hmm.
00:05:15
You know what you like? I like that. You know what I requested?
00:05:19
And I'm being dead serious right now.
00:05:21
I requested energy healing sessions.
00:05:24
I'm not kidding. And that's not because this is what I do.
00:05:28
It's not that. It's because I know that I cannot work on myself with myself.
00:05:33
Because once I start getting gunk out and I start, I'm emotionally involved
00:05:39
and it's very like, sometimes I get really, really deep and I feel like I need
00:05:44
someone who's completely objective,
00:05:46
someone who's not involved in the outcome, not emotionally involved in what's going on.
00:05:51
So I have two teachers that I've worked with and now I go to them for my session.
00:05:57
So I really want someone who's getting me presents, just get me sessions sessions
00:06:02
so that I know that it's paid for and I don't need to worry about it and I could
00:06:06
use them when I need them because I do need them. I mean, we all need them.
00:06:11
Yeah. And for the listeners, we're recording this now before Christmas,
00:06:16
but this is a PSA for you, Mari.
00:06:19
Whoever's listening for your birthday, any gift?
00:06:23
Nourishing feelings sessions. Because it's the best gift.
00:06:32
It's with anyone it's with people i trust and
00:06:35
i know that they they get the they get
00:06:38
the job done yeah so yeah so talk to
00:06:41
us a little bit about how you found that to be
00:06:44
helpful for yourself okay so this is the story i tell this is this is completely
00:06:49
true this is my story and it's true i spent over 20 years severe or depressed
00:06:55
i didn't even know how bad how badly depressed i was i I didn't realize it because
00:07:00
I had what they call functional depression,
00:07:02
where you're able to get up in the morning and you're able to force yourself
00:07:07
to do the things you need to do and go to work and take care of your family.
00:07:11
And then I would wake up at night.
00:07:13
Not able to sleep thinking to an outsider looking in, it seemed like I have
00:07:20
everything everybody could ever want.
00:07:21
I had a family, I had a career, I had friends, I was liked, I was respected,
00:07:26
you know, everything was great. And I was thinking, what is wrong with me?
00:07:30
What is wrong with me that I am so unsatisfied and I'm feeling this heavy fog
00:07:35
that follows me everywhere.
00:07:37
It's like, I felt like I went everywhere in this fog, you know,
00:07:40
I couldn't feel things deeply. I couldn't get too happy.
00:07:44
Nothing was working. I tried everything. I tried medication.
00:07:47
I tried meditation. I tried therapy, conventional therapy.
00:07:52
Some things helped a little bit. I'm not saying nothing worked.
00:07:54
Some things helped a little bit, but nothing made that much of a difference.
00:07:58
And so I said, okay, let me clean up my diet. Let me take out all processed foods.
00:08:04
That helped a little. That didn't cure me. I don't like that word,
00:08:07
but that didn't really help.
00:08:09
Okay. Cold and hot showers, you know, ice baths, all the things,
00:08:13
all the things that I tried everything and I was getting pretty desperate.
00:08:18
I was thinking to myself, what's the point?
00:08:20
What is the point? If this is how I'm going to spend the rest of my life, what is the point?
00:08:25
And so, and I am a software developer by trade. So I'm very love brain. I'm very logical.
00:08:31
If I can't taste it or smell it or see it, it does. I used to think that way.
00:08:36
It doesn't exist. And so a friend of mine introduced energy medicine and I was
00:08:40
very skeptical. I don't know what you're talking about.
00:08:43
You know, this can't possibly help me. I tried everything else,
00:08:46
but she convinced me to try a session.
00:08:49
And reluctantly, very skeptical. I was very skeptical. I once,
00:08:53
I probably was the worst client of that poor woman.
00:08:56
I was like, explain to me how this is going to help me. Explain to me how this works.
00:09:01
I want a scientific explanation, you know, because that's how my brain used to work.
00:09:06
And so that one session was life-changing. And look, I'm not telling you that,
00:09:12
again, that I was never depressed again, that that was the magical one that
00:09:16
completely took all my worries away.
00:09:20
It wasn't that, but it was the missing piece.
00:09:23
It was that missing piece of the puzzle that made the whole puzzle come together.
00:09:27
And it was like, what is that? What just happened to me?
00:09:31
And it wasn't... Another thing is... And so I'll quickly say that I'll finish that. sentence.
00:09:38
My ADHD gets me. And so I made it my life mission to learn all I can about energy
00:09:45
medicine and energy healing.
00:09:46
So I could bring this to people. I could show people that they have options
00:09:50
that they may not be aware of.
00:09:52
Because if you don't know it exists, you can't possibly use it, right?
00:09:56
One of my passions is.
00:10:01
Marrying the scientific approach and spirituality,
00:10:07
explaining that what I do is not woo-woo, it's not pseudoscience,
00:10:12
I don't dress up like a witch, I don't chant, there's none of that.
00:10:16
I mean, there is place for that, I'm sure, somewhere, but that's not what I do.
00:10:20
Most, I'll say most, I won't say all, most of the methods and modalities that
00:10:25
I use are based on science.
00:10:28
Mostly everything that I do can be explained by this is how your brain works.
00:10:33
This is how your body works.
00:10:35
This is how we don't question that there's energy when we talk about physics.
00:10:41
There's energy everywhere. We're all made out of the same stuff.
00:10:44
So I make sure to explain to all of my clients what I do, what it does,
00:10:49
so that there's no mystery and they know exactly what they're getting into and
00:10:53
what's going to happen. So they're not spooked and they're not scared.
00:10:57
None of it is scary. None of it is scary at all.
00:11:00
There's some things that I do that are a little out there that do require faith,
00:11:04
but that's for people who want that kind of thing.
00:11:07
Most of the stuff has to do with trauma, has to do with your emotions and your energy.
00:11:14
And everyone knows we have chakras, right? We go to any yoga studio,
00:11:19
there are chakras displayed everywhere. And just like we have.
00:11:24
Blood vessels. Everybody knows that, right? We have blood vessels that carry
00:11:27
blood to every organ, every cell, every muscle.
00:11:30
We have energetic highways in our system that carry energy to every organ,
00:11:35
every cell, every muscle.
00:11:37
So what I do is I make sure that the energy is flowing smoothly.
00:11:41
That's all I do. That's literally what I do. And I did say to someone,
00:11:45
and they thought it was funny, but also disgusting, that I'm an energetic plumber.
00:11:50
This is what I do. I dig going to your energetic system i get the gunk out because
00:11:56
you want that energy to flow slowly.
00:11:59
And if anyone ever is going to get an
00:12:02
acupuncture treatment what is acupuncture you
00:12:05
go and you say you have a headache and they take a needle and
00:12:08
you and they put it in your foot and you're thinking what does that
00:12:11
have to why aren't they putting in my head like you think right
00:12:14
because i have they put these needles in
00:12:18
specific points where the meridians meridians are
00:12:21
energetic highways where they meet this is the place when your energy is blocked
00:12:26
this is the place we're going to put a needle to unblock your energy this is
00:12:30
exactly the same idea this is exactly what i do but and i'm not saying don't
00:12:35
go to acupuncture it's a wonderful wonderful method and there's place for everything.
00:12:40
And I always tell people, if you have a therapist you trust,
00:12:45
please, by all means, go to therapy.
00:12:47
If you have a doctor you trust, trust is the key. And they prescribe you medication,
00:12:52
please take that medication.
00:12:54
I will never tell anyone not to do it. But also consider adding energy healing
00:12:59
into your regimen so that you get all of these things that are beneficial. So we'll work as a team.
00:13:06
That was a lot of words. No, you're good. Taking a step back, I have a question.
00:13:13
So you have a friend who recommends this and you go.
00:13:17
Did you know what to expect? Walk me through what that first session was like.
00:13:21
What was your experience?
00:13:23
So the first session that I had was actually in the emotion,
00:13:27
which is now one of the first modalities I got certified in.
00:13:31
I loved it. I loved it. It's amazing.
00:13:33
I actually flew out to Florida to a conference with Dr. Bradley Nelson,
00:13:38
who is the creator of this modality.
00:13:41
And I needed to meet him and I needed to ask him one question.
00:13:45
I needed to have this question answered. I said, can you please tell me,
00:13:49
is there any way that I could cause harm if I use the skin correctly?
00:13:54
And he said, no, the worst thing that could happen is that you don't help.
00:13:59
That's the worst thing that could happen. And I thought to myself,
00:14:02
you know, I'm fine with that.
00:14:03
If that's the worst thing that could happen and we leave things as is, I'm fine with that.
00:14:08
I walked into an energy healer and she explained to me, she explained about the method.
00:14:13
She told me that she's going to be using muscle testing.
00:14:17
Muscle testing is also known as applied kinesiology.
00:14:22
It's the study of how your muscles react to true and false statements.
00:14:30
Your body knows, your subconscious mind has all the answers.
00:14:33
Your body knows all the answers. And when we ask a question of ourselves, that is true.
00:14:39
Our muscles react strong to the truth and weak to false.
00:14:43
So there are ways to test that. There are many, many different ways to muscle test.
00:14:48
I, in my practice, use what's called ring and ring method.
00:14:51
I'm going to show you. I can't show the listeners, but it's basically two fingers
00:14:56
interlocking like this.
00:14:57
And so when you say true, something that's true, they're holding strong.
00:15:02
But when you say something that's false, they come apart easily.
00:15:05
And so I would ask a question and say, for example, my name is Mari.
00:15:09
And I would try to pull them apart and strong because it's a truth statement.
00:15:12
And then I will say my name is Samantha.
00:15:14
And I'll try to pull them apart and comes apart much more easily because it's false.
00:15:18
So what I do is and that's what that practitioner did. She asked a series of questions.
00:15:24
She questioned one session, pretty much like this. Is there an underlying imbalance
00:15:30
that's contributing to Mari's depression?" And the answer was yes.
00:15:35
I was like, can I try to identify? The answer was yes.
00:15:38
So she went through a whole... She has a chart, we work with charts,
00:15:41
asking all these questions and try to identify them.
00:15:46
One of the things, one of the main things that I was not even aware of,
00:15:50
and none of us are, every emotion that you feel in your life,
00:15:55
no matter how big or small, you could either process it and let it go,
00:15:58
or it could get lodged in your energetic body.
00:16:01
So no, that's your aura. Everyone knows you have an aura, right?
00:16:05
And so that, we call it trapped emotion. It gets lodged. Now your energy is not flowing smoothly.
00:16:12
And so what happens, it's like it's a little bowl of energy that's sitting there.
00:16:16
Your energy is not flowing. You're attracting more of that.
00:16:20
So with me, I was five years old.
00:16:24
I was sleeping at night. I heard a noise.
00:16:28
And I completely forgot this event because you don't remember this most of the time.
00:16:33
I heard a noise in the hallway and I got really scared. I thought somebody broke
00:16:37
into the house. I thought we have an intruder.
00:16:39
Five-year-old, you're afraid what you're afraid of.
00:16:43
And it was my mom. She was getting a drink drink of water, right?
00:16:46
Nothing to be afraid of. But that fear, it wasn't that huge.
00:16:50
You know, it wasn't like, man, if the house is burning down,
00:16:54
but to me, it was big and important. It got launched.
00:16:56
And so now I have this emotion of fear that's sitting there and vibrating certain frequency.
00:17:01
Now I'm more likely to attract more fear because I already have this vibration, right?
00:17:06
And then it grew into panic and then it grew into anxiety and then it grew and
00:17:11
then it grew and then it grew and it became this overwhelming thing that ultimately
00:17:15
contributed to me having depression that I never would have remembered.
00:17:20
It's five years old, you know?
00:17:22
And she was able to identify and release all of these emotions.
00:17:26
And it took work. It wasn't one session. I had a lot.
00:17:30
I had a lot. I had a lot.
00:17:32
And look look just like you inherited i'm not
00:17:35
saying new you i'm saying anyone you inherited your eye
00:17:38
color your hair color from your parents right you inherit these emotions they
00:17:42
may not be yours everyone talks about ancestral trauma this is what it is you
00:17:47
inherit the stuff from grandparents 17 generations back you know or how about
00:17:54
all these people who are watching 9 11,
00:17:57
at 9 11 watching the towers fall right they're not related to one another any
00:18:01
way shape or form but they're watching the same traumatic event.
00:18:05
They experience the same shared emotion of panic and terror,
00:18:10
whatever it was, fear, right? They all shared an emotion.
00:18:14
So if I were to work with one of them and release that emotion, guess what it does?
00:18:19
It releases from everybody else who shares it with them.
00:18:23
Just like inherited emotions, it releases from you.
00:18:27
If you got it from your dad, it releases from your dad. if
00:18:30
he got it from his dad it's like it cleans the whole line
00:18:33
it's amazing and this work is mind-blowing mind-blowing
00:18:38
it's so simple it is so elegant and
00:18:42
it's absolutely incredible yeah that's that's interesting having a son a i don't
00:18:48
know how it happened but i think it must be just learned right like i am very
00:18:53
aware and cautious with my own fears so that i don't influence him.
00:19:00
Like that was something that I must have just picked up as a child,
00:19:04
like seeing my parents fear their opinion or belief on something.
00:19:08
And knowing that I have like for a very, this is a real example,
00:19:14
but just to give you something to hold on to is I have a fear of whales.
00:19:18
I don't like whales. I'm not going to SeaWorld, period.
00:19:22
But when you have a child, child, they want to go to SeaWorld, right?
00:19:26
So I know that if I, first of all, I would do anything to make my child happy, right?
00:19:31
So I know, is the possibility of me going to SeaWorld high enough?
00:19:35
Yes. If I did go to SeaWorld, I don't want him to see his mom afraid of whales
00:19:42
because it's not really like it's an unreasonable fear and I don't want it to
00:19:48
influence his experience at SeaWorld.
00:19:52
And so like that is like a very real thing that like I think about with a lot
00:19:57
of stuff stuff that we interact with every day is like making sure i'm allowing him to experience,
00:20:03
his life in that moment without my influence yeah like i try so hard and i know
00:20:09
it slips because we're not perfect but it's something that you know it's important to me to let him,
00:20:15
not be influenced by my it's what do i understand that yeah it's what i'm moving
00:20:20
into that the only thing i could say this is not as mari energy hero but mari
00:20:24
mom who did the same exact thing No matter how much you try,
00:20:30
they develop their own fears,
00:20:32
they develop their own insecurities, and you just sit there and wonder.
00:20:38
This is why I won't work with my daughter also, because when I started getting
00:20:43
stuff out and I uncovered that she had anger towards me at the age of seven,
00:20:49
and then I asked her, I said, was there something...
00:20:51
I could get more... It gets more detailed than that.
00:20:54
It's not just like... you know and i says was there
00:20:57
something she says yes she says my friend had
00:21:00
a box of crayons that were that these fans this is
00:21:02
true she says really fancy crayons that i really wanted and you didn't get them
00:21:08
and i was very angry with you and i said why did you ask me she says no i never
00:21:12
asked you to get them so i had no way knowing she wanted them but she had the
00:21:17
anger point is it hurts when i see which her emotions so i won't work with her but,
00:21:23
fears and insecurities. And they're just like, wow, I tried so hard.
00:21:30
I tried so hard. I watched how I spoke to her. I watched how I behaved.
00:21:36
I tried not to show her, you know. Nope.
00:21:40
So do you still have that fear like with the spiders? Does Little Nugget? Oh, he loves spiders.
00:21:48
Okay. Yes.
00:21:50
I'm trying to actually think back on if he knows how afraid of spiders I am.
00:21:56
He probably does. He loves them.
00:21:59
Snakes. Oh, I have a... Yes, snakes.
00:22:02
I'm afraid. I'm afraid of a lot of things. But yes, snakes, I'm not a fan of.
00:22:08
They had a petting, like a petting zoo, kind of like a wild creature guy at one of his schools.
00:22:13
And I was distracted getting like a snow cone for my son and I turn around and sure as shit,
00:22:21
this guy's there with like this huge freaking snake and I'm holding the snow
00:22:26
cones and like just slowly crushing and melting them.
00:22:31
But I was like, oh, it's great, honey. Yeah, pet the snake. I was like, oh my God.
00:22:39
I just, because what made me think of that is just, I remember you sending me
00:22:45
the picture of a spider near your tomato plants. And you're like, we need to burn it down.
00:22:49
Yeah, I don't know if he knows how afraid I am. But I know he knows mom does not love spiders.
00:22:55
He does. He doesn't love and terrify them. Yes, yes.
00:23:00
But I am curious about whales. Because, you know, spiders, snakes.
00:23:05
Oh, I know exactly where it comes from as a child. Like, it's like,
00:23:08
literally feels like it happened yesterday. As a kid, we were in school,
00:23:13
and we were in a library, and they had a lot of National Geographic magazines.
00:23:18
And I pulled one, because I loved
00:23:20
National Geographic magazines when I was little, for whatever reason.
00:23:23
And I pulled one, and on the friggin' cover was two men in a canoe.
00:23:32
Not technically a canoe, a small little boat, right? And a breached whale.
00:23:37
And the visual of these two men who are bigger than me being so small compared to this whale.
00:23:45
And I thought, dude, if that whale just like, I don't know, moved a certain
00:23:49
way, that boat's toppling over.
00:23:51
Down in the water they go next to this huge whale talking about it.
00:23:56
I'm like, Like, and that's my fear is this huge, and it really is anything massive.
00:24:02
Like I get like that with skyscrapers too. So I don't know, but the whale specifically. Comes in New York, yeah.
00:24:08
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like I, like, oh yeah. But that's exactly where it comes
00:24:13
from. And I know it's ridiculous.
00:24:14
My friend's teasing about it. It's not ridiculous. It's important to you.
00:24:19
Yeah, it's creepy. It's important to you. It made an impact on you. Yeah.
00:24:23
Let's just say what's big and what's small, right? Right.
00:24:26
Right and i i tell my friends that i've made
00:24:29
it this far because i am safe and i
00:24:31
don't go near if you ever
00:24:35
considered getting rid of that fear okay not
00:24:38
me not recommending my i'm not there is a modality that one of the ones that
00:24:44
i actually use it's called side k it is phenomenal the reason i said not me
00:24:49
it's because i only work with people that this is the only thing the only modality
00:24:54
when I have to be in person.
00:24:57
Everything else I do on Zoom and in person, but this is the only one because this is very important.
00:25:02
This modality, everything I do is just mind-blowing. So this one is it changes
00:25:08
the software of your brain.
00:25:11
It doesn't change your brain. That's your hardware, right? It changes the software.
00:25:15
It changes the programs that you're running and it's so freaking quick. And it's so...
00:25:22
It is quick it is simple it will literally change the way you feel about whales
00:25:28
or spiders or you know to spears anything anything it is crazy but i just can't
00:25:36
do it on you know on zoom because,
00:25:39
there's a reason for that yeah i think you should focus on the spiders before
00:25:43
you do the whales No, just because they're everywhere.
00:25:46
Spider haven. Do you really? Yeah, yeah.
00:25:50
We're in Georgia and I've never seen, what are they, banana spiders ever in my life.
00:25:56
And they were freaking everywhere on our trees.
00:25:59
You looked up, there's these huge, it was, they were everywhere.
00:26:02
And we had guests and they're friends of ours from the pest control podcast.
00:26:08
And so we were sending photos one day after I had had a couple of cocktails.
00:26:11
Tails i needed them to fully grasp and understand the dire
00:26:15
situation i was in and they swear
00:26:19
it's like the best spider to have like no leave them they'll eat
00:26:22
all the little bugs and you know so i did any spiders how about no spider is
00:26:27
the best i like that right right he was like well technically all spiders are
00:26:32
venomous i was like done just burn it all down it's fine I don't like baby crawlers.
00:26:39
I don't like... Yeah. Yeah.
00:26:42
Okay. So you went in to your first session. It impacted you enough.
00:26:46
I find it very interesting that this part of the puzzle that you would have...
00:26:54
Never thought to be helpful or
00:26:57
like a thing right because it wasn't i didn't know it was a thing and now
00:27:01
it it has impacted you so much that it
00:27:04
has become such a big part of your every day i just
00:27:07
find that very fascinating so what has
00:27:10
been i guess one of the coolest or most
00:27:13
impactful things that you've learned about this new
00:27:17
lifestyle well simple healing can
00:27:20
be how straightforward and simple and
00:27:23
quick healing can be I have stories
00:27:27
I could be telling until tomorrow but the craziest stuff
00:27:30
I mean I specialize in depression
00:27:34
and anxiety and trauma just because that's what brought
00:27:37
me you know to the plea but that's not
00:27:39
all I do I have one client who she had
00:27:43
foot fungus that wouldn't go away and she
00:27:47
was taking medication for it and sometimes that medication could be heavy on
00:27:50
the liver and could be you know she wasn't loving the effects of medication
00:27:55
and she said it would go away and then come back it would go away two sessions
00:27:59
it's been gone for a year she said her skin is so clear that you cannot tell
00:28:05
there was ever anything there.
00:28:07
That's crazy stuff like that's crazy stuff i have a client who two clients actually
00:28:13
i was working Working with them at the same time, they were both trying to get pregnant.
00:28:18
One lady has been trying for six years and another one for two.
00:28:22
And they got pregnant at the same time. They got pregnant. I didn't get them pregnant.
00:28:28
They're not your babies. I did the work.
00:28:31
But what I helped do, and this is important, okay?
00:28:35
I am not a healer. I don't heal people. That's very important to understand. stamp.
00:28:40
When you fall down and you scrape your knee, you don't need to tell your knee
00:28:45
that it needs to grow on your skin. It knows what to do.
00:28:48
Your body has an innate ability to heal.
00:28:51
When I cut myself today slicing potatoes, my skin, it's going to heal.
00:28:56
I have a band-aid on just because it's uncomfortable, but I don't need to tell myself,
00:29:00
well, now you start growing your skin it knows what to
00:29:03
do all i do is help your body
00:29:06
help heal itself and i remove energetic blocks so that it could do so efficiently
00:29:12
and quickly so both ladies got pregnant that was incredible i was going somewhere
00:29:18
with this i promise i was going somewhere they don't stress all the time believe me.
00:29:26
I wanted to say oh yes so what i wanted to say is how
00:29:29
quick it could be how incredibly easy it
00:29:33
could be and how it could apply it could
00:29:36
be applied to every area of your life it doesn't hit some people come to me
00:29:42
not because something's wrong some people come to me because a they want to
00:29:46
see how much better it could get and b some people come to me and they say look
00:29:51
i'm stuck i've been been working at this job, you know, pays the bills.
00:29:54
I'm unhappy, but I don't want to leave because he pays the bills and I have
00:29:59
security and I've been there for so long.
00:30:01
Can we see what's stopping, what's getting in the way moving forward?
00:30:06
So what I was talking about before, the emotion code identifies trapped emotions we have.
00:30:11
Then Dr. Nelson created another modality on top of that, that's called the body code.
00:30:16
The body code deals with trapped emotions, yes,
00:30:19
but also imbalances in your body in your
00:30:22
chakras in your circuits and systems it looks
00:30:25
for toxicity it looks for mold exposure it
00:30:28
looks for organs and glands that need
00:30:31
to be maybe maybe to be balanced how about disconnections when people experience
00:30:37
a traumatic event you know how they seem like i dissociated or i left my body
00:30:41
for a second because that was the only way to survive well people sometimes
00:30:45
don't fully come back they come back but not fully so there's this disconnection.
00:30:49
So the body code addresses all of you.
00:30:53
And then there's another one that just came out and it's mind-boggling.
00:30:57
It's called the belief code.
00:30:58
It identifies your negative core beliefs, that subconscious programming that
00:31:03
you've been running, that you're not aware, and how everything connects.
00:31:07
So I work with people who want to make a change in their life.
00:31:11
They're happy, but not 100%. Or maybe they want to be a little happier.
00:31:16
So let's see. Let's see what we could figure out. let's see
00:31:18
what's holding you back incredible with children
00:31:21
absolutely incredible with children anxiety with
00:31:25
children children's you know anxiety now we weren't
00:31:28
we were under the quarantine i'm in new york we had it bad you know kids were
00:31:34
on zoom they were studying on zoom and some kids they started school on zoom
00:31:38
the little ones they never actually went to school and now suddenly they have
00:31:42
to go to a classroom they're scared out of their minds they don't know what to expect expect.
00:31:47
So anxiety with kids, very, very quick, usually.
00:31:50
I mean, I'm not making claims and every case is different, but usually it's quick.
00:31:54
Also because they haven't accumulated enough gunk yet. They're still little.
00:31:59
Something else i wanted to say oh and a lot of times and i talk about this a lot.
00:32:04
A lot of times people who are depressed they don't know that they're depressed,
00:32:09
because what we think we think different what we think what what is traditional
00:32:14
definition of depression right the feeling of gloom and doom but it could be so much more than that,
00:32:20
food preference changes being on high alert all the time sleeping too much not
00:32:25
sleeping enough up everyone knows that how about suddenly change it changing
00:32:30
your behavior avoiding people you don't know something's wrong but you just
00:32:34
can't be with other people you get tired super quickly,
00:32:37
you know you your preferences change you get hot or you get cold there could
00:32:44
be so many different things there's not one way to identify it so a lot of times
00:32:48
people don't know what's going on and they'll come to me and says look i i don't
00:32:52
know i'm just not myself and it's been going on for a a while.
00:32:55
Nothing wrong. I went to the doctor, they did all the tests,
00:32:58
there's nothing physically wrong with me, but just something doesn't feel right.
00:33:02
Let's see what we could find out. Yeah. And I'll add one more thing is that
00:33:07
the more I do this work, and this is really incredible, the more intuitive I become.
00:33:12
And at this point, it is not haha funny, not not never funny.
00:33:18
But it's a little funny how during a session, I will know exactly what this
00:33:24
one thing that we're working on, what it was caused from, which event.
00:33:30
I had a client. I have a client.
00:33:32
He had, we uncovered emotion of, I think it was fear. I don't really remember. That's not relevant.
00:33:39
Excuse me, four years old. And I kept saying, I see a big white dog.
00:33:43
I see a big white dog. But I knew my client never owned any dogs.
00:33:48
And then he sat for a second and he goes, oh my gosh.
00:33:51
I was at a shopping mall with my parents, and they let go of their hand.
00:33:56
His mom, dad, doesn't matter, let go of the hand that was holding them.
00:34:00
And for a second, I thought I was lost. And there was a dog that was being walked towards me.
00:34:06
And for a little four-year-old kid, seeing a decent-sized dog when he thinks
00:34:10
he's lost, it was terrifying.
00:34:13
And so he tracked that. So stuff I get in sessions is just, I don't know what
00:34:19
happened when he was four, when he was at the mall with his parents.
00:34:22
Yeah, that's really, really interesting.
00:34:25
I wish I had known about this modality, you know, last year.
00:34:29
I probably would have really benefited from it. Yeah, that's good.
00:34:34
I probably would have gotten to the point where I got to. Yeah.
00:34:38
This is why. So I started teaching free classes at my local library.
00:34:43
And everybody asked me, why do you do this? Why do you spend so much of your
00:34:47
time doing this and giving back? Because I want people to have tools.
00:34:51
I want people to be able to help themselves. I don't want people to be depending
00:34:55
on anyone, myself included.
00:34:58
Included if someone wakes up in the middle of the night that's
00:35:01
3 a.m and they're anxious and they're shaking and they
00:35:03
can't sleep what are they going to do they
00:35:06
can't call the doctor they can't call the therapist right you start tapping
00:35:10
you start tapping EFT emotional freedom technique the scripts are available
00:35:15
anywhere online there's so many scripts available they're super simple is it
00:35:20
going to cure you no is it going to reduce your anxiety yeah it's going to help
00:35:24
you it's not not going to make you sleepy,
00:35:26
like so sleepy that you'll fall right back asleep. But it will take you down a natural tune.
00:35:30
And a lot of times that's what you want. Point is, people don't know that all these things are about.
00:35:36
And this is why I'm screaming from the rooftops. There are so many options.
00:35:41
There are so many options.
00:35:43
Yeah. I mean, that's huge. I
00:35:45
think just in general, I mean, I think I can relate to what you had said.
00:35:50
And G-Rex, I know from your personal story too, It's like you get to a point
00:35:55
where you're desperate and you will try something new, right?
00:35:59
Because you've tried things that have failed you in the past.
00:36:01
And that's usually, I mean, it worked for me.
00:36:04
It was when I learned what I
00:36:06
thought was normal, like my normal state of being was me in survival mode.
00:36:12
You know you don't realize that that's
00:36:15
a thing until you actually talk and you speak to somebody you start
00:36:18
to kind of uncover these things that you've like pushed down or you know or
00:36:21
just quote-unquote dealing with right so i think for anybody that's listening
00:36:26
that is at a point where they need something else i would recommend right like
00:36:31
see see somebody like you and and figure out what they've been missing.
00:36:38
What's the missing link? What's the missing link? Because sometimes,
00:36:41
you know, therapy and, you know, person-to-person therapy just doesn't do it for people, right?
00:36:47
And you need that extra something just to help, you know, get you over the edge.
00:36:54
You know, for me, going to therapy and just sharing my story helped me tremendously.
00:37:00
Because, you know, I didn't want anybody to feel as lonely and messed up as
00:37:04
I felt. because on the outside, I look just fine.
00:37:08
Exactly. I was making people laugh. I was getting my shit done.
00:37:12
But on the inside, I was tapped out. I was done.
00:37:16
You have a fair line inside, yeah.
00:37:19
Fast forward a year. It'll be a year on Christmas. I feel so much better.
00:37:24
I'm like a different person.
00:37:26
That's amazing. I know how you feel. I know I could totally relate to that.
00:37:31
From the outside in, everything was fine. fine. Everything was great.
00:37:35
And I felt like I can't wake up another day because it was just so dark.
00:37:42
It was so dark and so lonely.
00:37:44
And you can't even explain, even if you have, not everyone has people who care
00:37:50
and they could share things with.
00:37:51
But even if you're lucky enough to have someone, it's not something you could explain.
00:37:56
They don't understand it. There are no words to explain it. And so I don't want
00:38:02
to say until they feel it. I don't wish that on anyone.
00:38:04
But until someone experiences this, they don't understand what it feels like.
00:38:09
Yeah. People are different and complex and...
00:38:13
Not everybody's going to understand exactly what you're going through
00:38:16
and yeah and i think for
00:38:19
me is you know i couldn't find my voice and i couldn't find my footing so i
00:38:24
couldn't really tell anybody what was going on because i was still trying to
00:38:28
figure it figure it out for myself but you know i just got more and more depressed
00:38:32
and i don't ever ever ever want to feel that way ever.
00:38:39
I don't wish that on anybody because it's terrifying.
00:38:42
It's terrifying. I agree. It's absolutely terrifying.
00:38:46
It's scary. It's very scary. Depression is scary. Anxiety is scary. Panic attacks.
00:38:53
Horrible. Horrible. When you really think that you're dying,
00:38:56
you don't know what's happening.
00:38:57
When I had mine, everything would go dark.
00:39:01
The room would start spinning. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't speak.
00:39:05
I couldn't explain what was going on.
00:39:07
The scariest thing so i wish more people knew that there are options.
00:39:15
Very very simple and one
00:39:18
of the things i love about these modalities is that usually people
00:39:21
feel a change after one session it's
00:39:24
not again if you have chronic pain it's not
00:39:28
going to go away after one session that's unrealistic but you
00:39:31
may feel something shifted something's changed
00:39:34
something feels a little different people will say
00:39:37
i feel lighter i feel like something is changing yes
00:39:41
yes because you're getting all the gunk out yes
00:39:44
i love that i love that
00:39:47
you know we're sharing this message you know just with our
00:39:49
listeners because there may be people out there
00:39:52
that have tried you know 10 different
00:39:55
things and they still just feel the same you know
00:39:59
and being able to have these resources and
00:40:02
you know and and look this information up and have
00:40:05
somebody to go to may make them feel better
00:40:08
because there's nothing worse than going into
00:40:11
you know therapy and you go session after session after session you
00:40:14
still feel like crap exactly and you're paying for it and you're paying for
00:40:19
it and then you keep thinking something must be really wrong with me yeah i'm
00:40:23
broken right i'm doing work and nothing's changing and you know the pandemic
00:40:29
is was It was absolutely horrible, especially for me.
00:40:31
I'm not saying it was better for other places, but New York was hit really hard.
00:40:35
But one good thing that came out of it is that now we're able to...
00:40:41
People are so used to going on Zoom and working on Zoom. We could have these sessions on Zoom.
00:40:48
I don't need to be next to you. You could be in Australia, you know,
00:40:52
you could be anywhere, really.
00:40:54
And actually, I prefer it that way, because if we're going to be uncovering
00:40:59
your emotional and your energetic roots of your emotional and physical and mental
00:41:04
problems, I want you comfortable.
00:41:06
I want you in your favorite chair with your favorite blanket. it.
00:41:10
I want you with your favorite mug of tea or coffee or whatever,
00:41:13
you know, water, it doesn't matter.
00:41:15
I want you as comfortable as you can be. I don't want you traveling to see me
00:41:19
and then traveling home, processing what happened, what we talked about.
00:41:23
You know, Zoom is incredible.
00:41:25
There are a couple of things, like I said, I won't do on Zoom only because I
00:41:29
need to meet, to watch person's breathing and their posture.
00:41:34
But mostly everything can be done by Zoom. I do sessions completely remotely.
00:41:39
I do sessions by email, but I don't even need to talk to someone.
00:41:44
I don't even need to. Yes, everything is energy.
00:41:47
We're all energy. I could tap into your subconscious mind with your permission,
00:41:51
only with your permission.
00:41:53
But if you come to me for a session, you are giving me that permission.
00:41:57
If you know the session is going to be done by email.
00:41:59
With children, children don't need to be present.
00:42:03
Children don't need to sit with
00:42:05
me in session. They could be playing three rooms away, five miles away.
00:42:09
I don't care if a parent comes to me and asks for help.
00:42:14
I just need parents' permission to tap into that child's energetics.
00:42:19
And i know it sounds a little intrusive but it's really not it's and
00:42:23
it's always for their best good i will it's not hypnosis i'm not brainwashing
00:42:28
anyone i'm not making them like spinach and they don't like spinach there is
00:42:32
i can't do that you know if i could do that my face would be on time square
00:42:36
and every billboard you know i could make kids eat vegetables and not like candy,
00:42:43
it's not it's not like that and it's only if your subconscious mind deems this.
00:42:49
Intrusive and it finds that i shouldn't be doing this i won't get anywhere i
00:42:53
will get a no and i'll stop the session simple as that this is so interesting
00:42:59
i appreciate you sharing your personal story what your experience is and and
00:43:04
how you've been able to help people i think I think this is amazing.
00:43:07
So for our listeners, where can they find you if they're wanting more information on Mari?
00:43:13
So my website is www.marihelps.com. It's M-A-R-I-H-E-L-P-S.com.
00:43:22
My website crashed about three weeks ago. I had to rebuild it from scratch.
00:43:27
Don't even ask. That was fun. So a couple of buttons are not working still. A couple of...
00:43:33
I'm changing that. But the information is there, sessions are there,
00:43:38
my pricing is there, and booking link is available.
00:43:40
I customize each session based on the person. There's no one fit all.
00:43:46
And my consultations are always free. I always meet with people who discuss
00:43:50
what you want, what you're trying to accomplish out of session.
00:43:54
I want to make sure people are comfortable working with me. It's very...
00:43:57
Because I'm not for everyone. No one is. and my first session is $25 just again
00:44:03
to show you what it looks like, to what it looks like, to give you a taste of
00:44:07
it and then decide if you want to pursue it.
00:44:11
So I think that's pretty accessible and this way they don't feel like they wasted
00:44:16
their life savings on a session and it wasn't successful.
00:44:20
Yeah, thank you. That is so awesome. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Absolutely.
00:44:25
This was fun. Hi all, thank you so much for listening to this episode.
