Dr. Bonnie Wims knows what it feels like to run from fear, to chase achievement in the hope it will quiet self-doubt, and to believe that changing your location might change how you feel inside. Born in the suburbs of Colorado and shaped by a childhood marked by the unpredictability of an alcoholic and abusive father, Bonnie learned early on to stay small, stay quiet, and stay safe. But those survival strategies didn’t disappear when her circumstances did—they followed her into adulthood, whispering doubt even as she accomplished big, brave things.
After moving from the U.S. to London with her husband and two kids, Bonnie earned a doctorate in Counseling Psychology and built a private practice. Still, despite all the external success, that internal voice of fear persisted—until she finally stopped running and sat down with it. In therapy, Bonnie met her fears not as enemies, but as old protectors. And by befriending them, she found her power.
Today, Dr. Wims uses her lived experience and clinical expertise to help others turn inward with compassion. She believes our fears hold wisdom when we’re brave enough to listen. Through her work, she shows others how to transform their insecurities into strengths and live with confidence, courage, and heart.
