At just eighteen years old, Author Michael Caprio was diagnosed with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, a rare genetic form of colorectal cancer that accounts for only 0.5 percent of all colorectal cancer cases in the United States. After enduring two life-saving operations Michael has since made a full recovery and has become an author, advocate, leader, change maker, and podcast guest in the spaces of mental health and colorectal cancer.
Michael's mission when writing his memoir was to bring awareness to his rare condition, colorectal cancers in general & mental health issues as well since a large part of his recovery was mental, as much as it was physical.
